What Is More Precious Than Gold And Jewels?

What could be more rare, beautiful and precious than jewels?

…Expensive worldly posessions?

…Winning the lottery and retiring?

…A mansion by the ocean?

…Abundant adoration and attention?

…The most aesthetically pleasing partner?

…Private jet setting across the world?

What is it?

Well, it's none of those...

…What then?

Wisdom.

Nothing is more rare, precious and valuable in this human life, than wisdom...

As Solomon stated, {the wisest mortal man who ever lived}

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing' but righteousness delivereth from death ~ Proverbs 10:2

...Why was Solomon the wisest man who ever lived?

Because when he was appointed King between 931-990 BC, God appeared to him saying "Ask, what I shall give thee"...

To which Solomon answered; first, expressing his gratitude for God for his mercy of his father David, who walked before God in truth, righteousness and uprightness in heart...

Then, rather than boasting pridefully that he is now a mighty and powerful "King", he humbled himself before God and said...

"I am but a little child, i know not how to go or come in"... "Give therefore thy servant an understand heart to judge thy people, that i may discern between good and evil" ~ 1 Kings 3:7-9

Isn't that something? An incredible request, one in which would not come to mind for most people...

In that, God was so pleased with Solomon's saying, that he responded as follows; "Because thou has asked this thing, and has not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgement; Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee" ~ 1 Kings 3:11-12

Indeed this is true, here we are 3,000 years later, still discovering endless wisdom from the words of Solomon, who was truly renowned for his wise ways...

Not because he leaned on his own understanding, but because of his trust in God, striving to be righteous and good in heart; that God gifted him, and everyone affected by him, the treasure of Wisdom...

On top of this, because he was humble and sincere before God, he won favour in the eyes of the LORD as follows... "And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour" ..."And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep by statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days" ~ 1 Kings 3:13-14

So Solomon knew how precious wisdom was, and the whole world came to seek his council, for he could judge and discern like no other…

We see this wisdom shining forth in Jesus when he walked among the people, who spoke Truth in a way never before heard from any man;

The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.” ~ Luke 11:31

As true wisdom is the ability to accurately discern Good from evil, having sober understanding to choose the correct actions…

Imagine then, the eternal, immutable wisdom of God...

The source of wisdom itself... the perfect understanding of all things, which was always with Him;

"The LORD possessed me {wisdom} in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was." Proverbs 8:23

As wisdom is part of God’s character, you cannot truly know wisdom without Him,

because he will only open your spiritual eyes, when He sees your heart’s intent is pure…

You see, we have more information than ever before available to us today, yet, there is a lack of knowledge and an increase in confusion and demoralisation...

So what you consume and who you are giving your attention to, is important...

You have heard me say it before, it matters not how much you earn/have… what matters most is how you got it; whether it was by wicked endeavours or by honest means…

As this is what matters in the eyes of our Just God...

Therefore Ignore not the council of wisdom, it is your life line in an evil, corrupt world;

"Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it." Proverbs 8:10-11

"Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death." Proverbs 8:34-36

Meaning; be hungry for wisdom, seek God's knowledge with a genuine heart, to truly learn; not for ill intent, for he knows the difference…

He favours those who put their faith in Him and who walk in His ways...

Read His Word {scripture} yourself, and His wisdom will transform you as it speaks life and understanding into you, for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see...

There is so much more i can say but for this lesson I have bestowed upon you the beginnings of the importance of wisdom…

Til next time,
